The Autism Project
A local New England nonprofit working to improve the lives of people with autism. Families are encouraged to contact our Family Support Team.
The Autism Project is committed to celebrating, elevating, and supporting autistic people. This past weekend, The Autism Project was incredibly grateful to receive generous donations in support of Camp WANNAGOAGAIN! 💛
A sincere thank you to our motorcycle club partners:
Vengeance MC, Star Riders MC, Hells Angels MC, Road Rangers MC, Good Fellas RC, Leather Necks MC, and Viking Riders MC.
Your generosity helped us secure so many of our camp essentials for the summer ahead. From s’mores supplies and pool noodles, to sunscreen, bug spray, and gift cards—these donations directly support creating a safe, fun, and memorable experience for our campers.
We are truly grateful for your continued support and partnership. It means more than we can say. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 💙

TAP out in the community this week!
Our Family Support team visited Brown Avenue Elementary School, where students created sensory bottles—calming, hands-on fidgets designed for focus and self-regulation. Students chose their own colors and worked alongside our team to build something uniquely theirs.
Meanwhile, Unity Community enjoyed a community outing to the Johnston Public Library. Participants met with library staff, learned more about available resources, and even selected books to take home.
Two meaningful community experiences, one impactful week!
Looking for a summer opportunity that builds confidence, leadership, and independence?
Our Camp Leadership Training (CLT) Program is designed for autistic teens and young adults (15+) to gain workplace experience, strengthen social skills, and take on leadership roles at Camp WANNAGOAGAIN!

On Friday, we had the honor of sharing Kindness & Grace in the Life of Jovanny Green with our community.
Thank you to Generations Adult Day Health Center for opening your doors and helping make this event possible. We are also incredibly grateful to Kendall, the film's director, for capturing Jovanny's story with such authenticity, heart, and care.
A special thank you to everyone who joined us. Your presence helped create an evening filled with meaningful conversations about autism, kindness, acceptance, and community.
If you weren't able to attend this screening, don't worry—we'll be hosting another one soon. Stay tuned for details!

⏳ 4 days away!
Join us on May 29 for a special screening of Kindness & Grace in the Life of Jovanny Green, a powerful short film sharing the story of Jovanny Green, a Black autistic man living in Providence, RI.
This image shows Jovanny speaking on a panel at the Black Film Festival alongside his mom and Detective Tilson—who is also featured in the film. His voice, alongside his family and community supports, is at the center of this story.
Following the screening, attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in a live Q&A with Jovanny, offering space for reflection, questions, and deeper conversation about identity, inclusion, and real-life experiences of autism in our communities.

This is the team that makes it all happen! 💙
A big thank you to Dana and our friends at the Providence Performing Arts Center for always welcoming our community with open arms.
Last weekend, we had such a wonderful time at the Sensory Friendly Magic Show! 🎩✨ From the thoughtful support of the PPAC team—including fidgets and welcoming spaces—to the calm break room created by our The Autism Project staff, every detail helped make the experience inclusive and comfortable for our families.
We’re so grateful for our Family Support team who is always out in the community providing resources, care, and connection wherever they go. 💙 None of this would be possible without these incredible partnerships and people.
Neuroinclusion is more than a lunch-and-learn or an April awareness event — it’s a culture shift. 💙
At the 2026 Inclusion Conference, Ariana DeAngelis joined Jeremy Doran, founder of NeuroConversant Leadership, for a meaningful fireside chat about creating workplaces where every employee, regardless of neurotype, has the supports and structures they need to thrive.
True inclusion happens when commitment comes from the top down and becomes part of everyday workplace culture.
Thank you to everyone helping move these conversations forward.

The Imagine Walk may be over, but the impact continues. 💙
We are still fundraising through May 29, and we continue to be so grateful for the incredible support shown by our community.
To everyone who walked, donated, volunteered, sponsored, shared our mission, or supported The Autism Project in any way—thank you. Your generosity helps us continue providing vital programs, education, resources, and support to autistic individuals and families throughout the year.
The Imagine Walk is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish together as a community rooted in acceptance, inclusion, and connection.
There’s still time to help us reach our goal before fundraising closes on May 29! 💙
