June is Men’s Health Month, and we’re keeping this one simple:

Protect the life you like living.

For a lot of men, staying healthy means more than a yearly checkup. It means being able to work, coach, hunt, fish, golf, ride, mow, hike, travel, play with the grandkids, and handle the projects that somehow always end up on the weekend list.

Scroll through to read a few orthopedic-friendly reminders.

The goal is to keep doing the things you love, safely.

: Talent runs in the Ailshie family!

Bryce Ailshie, PT, DPT, comes from a long line of standout runners at Dobyns-Bennett. His dad, Jim Ailshie, won three state championships in the early 1980s and held the Tennessee state record in the 800 meters for 25 years.

Bryce continued the tradition by winning three state championships of his own, including two 4x400 relay titles alongside fellow Watauga PT Zach Casey, before running track at the University of Wyoming.

Now, Bryce’s younger brother, Eamon, is carrying on the family legacy after winning a 2024 state championship and signing with Radford University for cross country and track.

This week's features Greg Cornforth, co-owner of Peak Physical Therapy and valued partner of Watauga Orthopaedics.

After suffering a grade 2 ankle sprain, Greg came to us unable to walk without pain. He was quickly x-rayed and evaluated by Dr. Mike Czulinski at our walk-in clinic in Bristol, and just a few days later, he lined up and completed an Ironman 70.3, capping it off with a 13-mile run.

In Greg's own words: "Post grade 2 ankle sprain Thursday morning… Sunday, I ran 13 miles and completed the Ironman 70.3. Thanks again for your help!"

Stories like Greg's are exactly why we do what we do. When the timeline matters, Team Watauga is ready — delivering timely, expert care that gets our patients back to doing what they love.
