March is American Red Cross Month. Support your local Red Cross by donating or volunteering.
Follow these simple tips to help pest‐proof your home:
1. Use plastic trash bags in all of your trash cans and regularly dispose
of garbage in the proper receptacles.
2. Do not leave dirty dishes or food on countertops. After preparing
food, wipe down countertops and sweep the kitchen floor to
remove crumbs.
3. If your property allows assistance animals or pets, be sure to
remove uneaten food after meal times.
4. Store pantry food items, including flour, sugar, corn meal and
cereal, in air tight containers such as Rubbermaid or Tupperware.
5. Check packages carefully—especially for cockroaches. They love a
good grocery delivery!
6. Carefully inspect second hand furniture for bed bugs and other
unwanted pests.
7. Wash bed sheets and put them in the dryer at least once a week. It
will not prevent bed bugs, but it will help you notice if you have
them.
8. Alert your site manager right away if you suspect a pest problem.
