Lane Closure Notice Beginning May 11th – Old Jesup Road Improvement Project

Glynn County will begin roadway improvements on Old Jesup Road as part of the Old Jesup Road Improvement Project. Work will include roadway widening along Old Jesup Road from Walker Road to Scranton Road.

Construction is scheduled to begin at approximately 8:00 AM on Monday, May 11, 2026, and will occur Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM through the duration of the project.

During active work periods, single-lane traffic conditions will be in place, with flaggers on site to safely direct traffic.

Access within the project area will be limited. Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians are encouraged to avoid the area when possible, anticipate delays, and use caution when traveling nearby. Driveway access for adjacent property owners will be maintained at all times.

Behind every orange cone is someone dedicated to keeping our country moving. Unfortunately, nearly 900 lives are lost in work zone crashes each year. These tragedies are preventable and impact both commuters and workers. It's important to remember that your choices behind the wheel can have lasting consequences.

Roadway safety professionals across the country today were encouraged to wear orange to proudly show their support of work zone safety. Today is Go Orange Day and it especially important to families of victims who have lost their lives in work zones. Thanks to a few of our team members who showed support.
