🩸Blood Donor Saved My Life

Yesterday, I donated blood.

And it got me thinking…

My life was changed because of a blood donor.

Now before you think I’m talking about a hospital, I’m talking about something that happened over 2,000 years ago.

Jesus became the blood donor that every one of us needed.

The Bible says in Ephesians 1:7, “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses.”

Here’s something amazing about blood:

Your blood travels roughly 12,000 miles through your body every single day. It’s constantly bringing life, oxygen, and nourishment to every part of you.

Another interesting fact is that while doctors can transfuse blood, they still can’t manufacture human blood. It has to be given by a donor.

Think about that.

The thing that sustains physical life has to be given.

And the thing that sustains eternal life was given too.

When Jesus went to the cross, He gave His blood so that we could receive forgiveness, freedom, hope, and eternal life.

You and I couldn’t earn it.
We couldn’t manufacture it ourselves.
It had to be given.

So today, every time you hear about a blood drive or see someone donate blood, let it remind you of the greatest gift ever given.

Because my life was changed by a blood donor.

His name is Jesus.

And because He gave His blood, I can have life.

Come on somebody.

Prayer for Monday, June 15

You ever notice how sometimes you can be driving with the radio off and suddenly your mind starts replaying everything?

Past mistakes.
Missed opportunities.
Conversations you wish went differently.
Things you wish you could go back and change.

And if you’re not careful, guilt will convince you that your past disqualified you from the future God has for you.

But can I remind you tonight?

God knew every mistake you would make before He ever called you.
Nothing about your story caught Him off guard.

Moses had a past.
David had a past.
Peter had a past.
Paul had a past.

And yet God still used them.

So let’s pray.

Father, I pray for the person listening right now who keeps carrying guilt, shame, and regret from their past.

Lord, they’ve replayed the mistakes over and over in their mind.
They wonder if they missed their chance… if they ruined too much… if they can still become who You called them to be.

But tonight, remind them that Your grace is greater than their past.
Your mercy is still available.
And their worst moment is not the final chapter of their story.

Father, help them stop living chained to what You already forgave.
Heal the shame.
Heal the regret.
Heal the self-condemnation.

And give them the courage to move forward without constantly looking backward.

Tonight, let peace fill this truck.
Let hope rise again.
And let them remember that if You still woke them up this morning, You’re not finished with them yet.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
