Cheryl Mainor started Shane's Crib as a ministry that grew out of MASA. History - Mothers against abuse (MASA) was founded after Cheryl's son Shane became addicted to drugs and alcohol. He was in and out of the court system, and his life spiraled out of control after the loss of his 16 month old son James to a tragic death. This tragedy intensified his drug use, and Shane passed away on August 03,
