Does anyone have a list of food pantries that help with food throughout the month? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Wayne Housing Partners is pleased to announce the selection of our founding Chairman, Mr. Clifford Davis, Jr., as a Grand Marshal for the upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. celebration in Wayne County. Mr. Davis has played a pivotal role in our organization's evolution, and we join the community in honoring his contributions to both our local community and the state of Georgia. He was recognized for his achievements at the WHP Board Meeting earlier today. We extend our gratitude to Mr. Davis for his tireless efforts to improve our community and state, and we appreciate his dedication more than words can express.

One of our most favorite days of the year: our annual Christmas celebration with our families. With some help from the wonderful folks at House of Worship, we were able to fulfill Santa's list with gifts for 110 kids this afternoon. And with the warmer temps, ole Santa was able to make the trek down from the North Pole on his Harley instead of hooking the reindeer up to the sleigh! 🧑‍🎄🌲🎄

It was truly a team effort creating our float for the Jesup Christmas Parade this past Friday night. Each member of our fabulous team had original ideas for creativity and each one physically worked to get the float ready to roll. It's that same teamwork that makes WHP such a great community partner here in Wayne County!

Also, a special thanks to Kara and gang at the DDA for putting on a great parade!! Great planning and a huge crowd showed up to enjoy!

There is nothing more important to us and our local community than our youth. Each year, we are fortunate to be able to assist our youngsters with going back to school. There's nothing we love more than to see the smiles and the excitement they have for starting off a new school year. Since 2003, we have been blessed by sponsors here locally to provide backpacks filled with all of the school supplies needed at their respective schools. This year, we were able to fill over 100 backpacks and distribute them to our kids before the first day of school. Without the following sponsors, this would not have been possible. We thank them for their support of our mission in Wayne County, but more importantly, for sowing into the lives of over 100 kids that were prepared to start the new school year off on the right foot!

Some celebrations are somewhat bittersweet. They are joyous occasions, but selfishly, sometimes sad as well. For our organization, today is one of those days. After over 30 years, Ted Thornton is retiring. Ted has seen many changes thru the years and has been a positive influencer of those changes. He's repaired everything from toilets to air conditioners. He's always shown up for work committed and ready to roll. But today is the last day Theodore will drive thru our gates to the maintenance shop. We will miss him and his wit, but we also wish him the very best in this new phase of his life. Thank you Ted for all you've done to make our organization better! We love you and will miss you!!
