Community Home Care is a home health agency that provides skilled medical services to patients residing in Appling, Brantley, Long, Pierce, Tattnall, and Wayne Counties. Our services include nursing care, home health aides, speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and medical social workers. Skin cancer is a very common cancer in the United States. More than 6 million people receive a diagnosis each year. Basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, which are nonmelanoma skin cancers, are the most common types of skin cancer. Nonmelanoma skin cancers rarely spread to other parts of the body.
Help prevent skin cancer by wearing a mineral sunscreen with 30+ SPF that also blocks UVA and UVB rays. Don't get dehydrated and wear skin protective clothing. Go see if a dermatologist if you notice changes in moles or freckles or sores that don't heal, or anything new, changing or unusual.
