Work-Life Balance should not be a Myth:

I been to sales presentations were salespeople say, "We believe in no pressure sales", but go on to do exactly that -- try to pressure me. There are also companies that advertise work-life balance philosophy, but that philosophy really just stops on their website.

For some people, the USA work culture has morphed over time to a 24/7 phenomena. When workers are home, they spend time thinking about work -- in some extreme cases, dreaming about work! Is it time for a radical shift from this slippery slope? I think so, and it seems more and more CEOs think so.

GOTO 2014 • Software Architecture vs. Code • Simon Brown 07/26/2016

Is it possible to have trace-ability from the software architecture diagram(s) to written code? To have an architecture that is clear and not confusing, with different perspectives that effectively communicate to business stakeholders, technical managers, and in the weeds developers?

• At the workplace, how many times have you seen a software architectural diagram on the office wall that depicts something clearly different from what is developed?
• How many times as a developer have you coded a system without ever reviewing a software architecture diagram?
• As an architect have you ever wondered why when the rubber hits the road, development teams turn your architecture to nothing more than a great wall picture?
An interesting video for software architects and developers.
