Another great Jenks PLAC meeting with over 50 in attendance! We recapped our busy and productive day at Public Schools Day at the Oklahoma Capitol, shared conversations we had with legislators, and dug into several upcoming education bills that will shape classrooms across Oklahoma.

Public schools thrive because of the people who pour their time, talent, and heart into students every day. Let’s make sure they know they are valued.

Today’s theme: Students at the Center

Quote your kid. Ask your student their favorite thing about school and share it on social media. Post their answer, a photo, or a quick video and let their voice lead the story.

When we center around students, we remember why public schools matter.

What an energizing day for Jenks PLAC!

We had a fantastic group of 15 parents, educators, and community members join us at the Capitol to advocate for our public schools. Throughout the day, we met with all of our representatives and senators, sharing stories from our classrooms and discussing the issues that matter most to Jenks students and families.

Huge thank‑you to everyone who took time out of their day to show up, speak up, and support strong public education. Our community. Our Schools.

Today’s theme: Showing Up Matters

Join us at the Rally on the Capitol Steps at 9:30 AM on the South Plaza.

Bring friends, a sign, and your positive energy. Wear Red for Ed or your school swag. Post your photos and videos.

After the rally, head inside to meet with legislators and share your hopes for this session. Sign our Love Note to Oklahoma Public Schools and enter the raffle.

When we show up together, it makes a difference.

Today’s theme: Public Schools Serve Everyone

Take a few minutes to reach out to your local legislators, the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, or State Superintendent and share what makes your school great. Public schools welcome, educate, and support every student who walks through their doors and that matters.

A handwritten note, card, or email all make an impact.

As we continue celebrating 50 Reasons We Love Oklahoma Public Schools, let’s make sure our leaders hear directly from the communities they serve.
