Country Needleworks

In our second episode of summer knitting on Monday Marketplace at Country Needleworks, we have another trunk show. This one is from Blue Sky Fiber with some of their organic cotton yarns. We carry it in two weights; worsted and sport. Both yarns are 100% organic cotton. The worsted has 156 yards for a 100 gram skein and the sport has 136 yards for 50 grams. Sue is wearing the Seven Sisters Top in a marled brown color which looks completely different than our store model in a soft blue, both in the worsted weight. This sweater is a simple construction design. The Lakewood Tee shows off some beautiful detail knitting on both the sleeve edge and the bottom front ribbing also made with the worsted weight. The Santa Cruz wrap, made from the sport weight yarn, can be used as a great accent accessory or for warmth in a cooler place. The bright color option adds that “pop of color” to your wardrobe. The Tulsa Tank would be a quick knit from the worsted weight yarn. This cute little top has a wide section of ribbing on the bottom edge. The Orcutt Tee, made from the worsted weight has cables, textures and a garter stitch neckline. Another option for this tee could be a vest for the fall months. Pam is wearing the Camden Sweater. This sweater has a classic look with the striping and is made from the sport weight yarn.

Monday Marketplace has moved to the “Cotton Corner” in Country Needleworks, Jenison, MI. We are excited to show some more models made from a worsted cotton blend of 53% cotton, 33% rayon, 14% linen, 120 yds to 50 gr. This yarn is from Sandnes Garn and is called Line. We have many colors but there are several more new ones ordered and expected shortly. Sue is wearing the Seaside Tee which features a unique shoulder construction. There are so many stripe options to choose from. Pam has on the SABAI Top. This pattern comes with two options, either with ribbing or without. The other hanging sweater model is called Snowbell with a beautiful lace yoke. The other patterns Sue mentioned will be listed and linked below. They all call specifically for this yarn and make great summer tops or layering pieces in your wardrobe.
