Organize Ottawa and the Ottawa County Democratic Party failed us. We lost a county commission seat, that was earned through great difficulty in a recall, and we failed to gain a state house seat that was on the table.

Instead, they chose to invest damn near everything in losing seats that were impossible to win by a slightly smaller margin.

Despite this, Ottawa County is one of the few counties in the country that moved away from Donald Trump between 2016 and 2020 and between 2020 and 2024. It might be the only county in the country that did this. We absolutely could have had this same effect while winning those two seats, but the leadership of Organize Ottawa exercised a dangerously short-sighted strategy, and the *leadership* of OCDP just went along for the ride instead of intervening as they were urged to do multiple times.

Elissa Slotkin is going to be the next senator from Michigan, and her extremely narrow margin of victory is pretty much the same as the amount of votes gained by Democrats in Ottawa County this year.

She probably wouldn't have won if it weren't for Joe Moss and Ottawa Impact existing, and us having activists on the ground ready to stand up to them and amplify the damage those Republicans have caused our community.

Ottawa County deserves better than Bill. It's so unbelievable for him to pretend to not know why so many voters are turning out early here. Everyone knows. Everyone across the state knows. His lack of leadership actively contributes to us being a laughing stock.

We have always known not to be indifferent to federal elections, but we had to learn the hard way not to be indifferent to our local elections. Now that we know we must pay attention to our county politics, make sure to drop your absentee ballots off, vote early, or show up on Election Day. Vote for the future you want to see.

State Representative Bradley Slagh has said the quiet part out loud. He thinks his job in Lansing is to do what Joe Moss and Ottawa Impact tells him to do.

The GOP is dominated by this MAGA brainröt from Mar-A-Lago to Lansing to Fillmore Street in Ottawa County. Voting for the Democratic Party straight ticket is the best and safest way for us in Ottawa County to hold these extreme politicians accountable.
