Caring Kitchen

Because we care . . .

While stocking the shelves at The Caring Kitchen, I heard a car drive up and stop outside our building. It wasn’t Monday so we weren’t open, and I was not expecting any deliveries. I peered outside and a young woman got out of the car and walked up to the door. The car wasn’t in good repair and she wasn’t very well dressed. My heart went out to her as she started to tell me just a little bit about her situation. But the thing that got me the most was when she said “I’ll eat anything, even if you only have an onion.” We see many people with stories such as this. From the family that had been eating only mushrooms for three days, to the father of 5 children that had just lost his job. We are here because we care about the people in this community and we want to make some of the difficulties in life a bit easier.
