Awesome to see one of my blades putting in some work out in Oregon. Congratulations to Ryland and his grandson on the nice Roosevelt Elk!

A couple I finished up this week…one gift and one I think I’m gonna keep 😉

It’s always great to hear when someone is excited to receive something I’ve made. In this case, it was a gift from a customer to a lifelong friend. Thanks to Brent for the order, and I hope your buddy gets many years and much use out of this blade.

Headed to Oregon once the sheath is done. I hope it skins many an elk once it makes it out there!

This filet knife turned out pretty great being the first one I’ve ever made… The line you see running down the blade is called a “hamon”, which higlights where the soft spine meets the hardened edge. This method gives the knife a nice flexible blade, and a durable edge.

Differentiallly heat treated W2 steel, desert ironwood handle and copper hardware.

Done!

Almost finished with this retirement gift for a Fire Captain. Handle is made from the fire hose underneath.

My apprentices got some shop time tonight 🤙
