Zion had a home, he had a family, he had love……

Now he has boarding. Concrete walls. Staff. Sure, he is treated very well and given all he needs, but it isn’t the same.

Zion came to us from Cobb County AC as the longest resident…urgent…..next on the list.

We promised him a better tomorrow. We sent him to training. Gave him a foundation. We screened adopters. We thought we found the perfect family for him.

Four months later…. Out of the blue we heard of a need to return him due to schedule changes. Zion needing too much structure, activity, and one on one…..

Weeks later, he is still in boarding with no promise of a better future in sight. No foster applications, no inquiries, no potential adopters. Nothing.

Our hearts are breaking for Zion. Others walked away. But, we never will. We will keep our promise to Zion - no matter how long it takes.

Please share - help us find a family that deserves this energetic, dog friendly, well trained, adorable boy. Help us keep our promise of a better tomorrow to Zion. We really need your help.

Foster or adoption applications can be completed on our website at www.barkvilledogrescue.org

Please Foster. Please Share. Thank You.

Why can’t we find a foster home for Umi?

She is beautiful, sweet, well behaved and super lovable!!

Umi is dog friendly, kid friendly, professionally trained, housebroken, and crate trained- plus she comes with free advanced training for life at Rucker Dog Training.

Umi has spent months in board and train patiently waiting for one person to give her a home to live in until she is adopted.

This should not be so hard for a great dog like Umi!! Surely there is one person willing to open their heart and home to this lovely dog?

Please Foster. Let’s get Umi into a home setting and out of boarding.

Applications can be completed at www.barkvilledogrescue.org

Please Foster. Please Share.

Thank you.

Can someone please explain to us how Big Boy still doesn’t have a home? 😂

This guy has been hanging out in foster care and he is VERY ready for someone to make him theirs.

Big Boy is exactly what you’d expect from a dog named Big Boy. He’s a big, happy, energetic dude who likes to have fun and would probably prefer that his person does too. He’s not looking for a life of leisurely naps and occasionally checking the backyard for squirrels. He wants to GO.

The funny part is, underneath all that enthusiasm, this man is professionally trained. He’s got the skills, he just also has the personality. 😂

He’s dog friendly, cat friendly, and needs a home without kids. He’d do best with someone who will keep up with his training, give him some structure and actually enjoy having an active dog around.

He’s safe and happy with his foster, so there’s no emergency here. We just keep looking at him thinking… your person HAS to be out there somewhere.

Big Boy has been waiting patiently.

Well, “patiently” might be generous.

He’s been waiting. 😂❤️

Come get your dog.

Happy Monday!

We have been lucky to get a few dogs out of boarding and to rescue a few new dogs because of fosters stepping up…..thank you so much!!

But, we still have all of these sweet pups sitting in boarding that need somewhere to go….at some point each of these dogs was pulled from the shelter because we had a foster lined up…..promises were made to each of these dogs- promises that were broken for whatever reason.

Most of these dogs have been professionally trained or are currently being trained. They are good dogs - none of them are perfect. They will all need continued reinforcement of the skills they have learned, decompression when moving into a home and commitment from their foster or adopter.

Will you help us to help these dogs? Will you foster? All it takes is a little work, a little time, a little commitment to make a HUGE difference to one of these deserving dogs.

Foster applications can be completed at www.barkvilledogrescue.org Join our team today! We would love to have your help if you are willing to put in some work!!

In rescue you find 2 different kinds of people…. Those that take commitment to heart and those that walk away without a second thought to the responsibility they leave for others to handle…..

Thankfully here at BarkVille we have a good group of those that never walk away - they always choose the high road and just roll up their sleeves and figure it out- no matter how tough the situation is…

Dog rescue, fostering and adoption can all be challenging- it takes hard work, and dedication to see some of these dogs through….

A huge thank you to those that stand by their commitments, put in the work and persevere all for the betterment of a dog’s life! We appreciate you more than you know!!

We need more folks who have what it takes to face challenges, problem solve and have a do whatever it takes attitude!!

The dogs need you and truly their lives depend on good people that don’t take the easy road….the real rescue warriors!!!

If you are one of the “can do” attitude folks who have a “never surrender” mentality we desperately need you!!

Please fill out a volunteer, foster or adoption application today at www.barkvilledogrescue.org

Thank you!!!

Well….. as the saying goes…..

Winners NEVER Quit and Quitters NEVER Win!!

Our Meatball Biloxi worked hard at all of his classes, practiced and had a positive attitude….but he didn’t
pass the CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Test today. He got overly happy and tried to jump on the tester!!!! Automatic Fail…..

The test isn’t easy and for good reason- Canine Good Citizens that go into schools or hospitals etc have to be reliably trained to behave- not jump and to be polite.

Biloxi’s come a long way, but it looks like we have a bit more work to do!! A new class starts soon, and we’ll be back at it! It’s important for Biloxi to pass so that he can be an ambassador for his breed and proudly represent Pitbulls everywhere!

We will keep at it until we get there!! It’s good for both us!!

In the meantime, Biloxi is still interviewing folks for adoption, so if you are interested get your application in at www.barkvilledogrescue.org

Thanks Everyone!! More Meatball Adventures to Come!!

GUESS WHO’S OUT OF BOARDING?! 🥹❤️

Our girl Keira has had a bit of a rough go lately.

After being returned by her adopters, she found herself back in the one place we really didn’t want her to be… boarding.

Going from having a home back into a boarding facility is a hard adjustment for any dog, and we knew Keira deserved better than spending her days waiting for someone to come get her.

Well… someone did. ❤️

An AMAZING foster family stepped up for our girl, and Keira is officially back in a HOME!

Before heading off to her foster family, she also got a little refresher course in training — brushing up on her skills, getting back into a routine, and reminding everyone that yes, she is in fact a very good girl. 😂

And now? She gets to trade the sounds of a boarding facility for the sounds of a home again. A couch. A family. A routine. People to hang out with at the end of the day.

Normal dog stuff.

The stuff we desperately want for every single Barkville dog.

We are SO grateful to the foster family who looked at Keira and said, “She can come stay with us.” You changed her entire world with that one decision.

Keira still has another chapter waiting for her — the one where she finds her forever family — but for right now, we’re just really freaking happy that our girl is HOME. ❤️

Welcome back to the good life, Keira. You’ve earned it. 🐾
