Help Us Keep Pickens County Pantries Full This Summer

Our Pickens Feeds Pickens campaign is underway, and we still have several summer weeks that need individuals, businesses, churches, families, and community groups to “adopt” a pantry!

By signing up for a week, you’re committing to help keep one of our school-based Little Free Food Pantries stocked so children and families in our community have access to food all summer long.

It’s simple:
✔️ Pick a school
✔️ Pick a week
✔️ Gather shelf-stable food items
✔️ Check and refill the pantry during your week

You can host a food drive, collect donations from coworkers or friends, or stock it yourself. Every effort makes a difference!

It takes about $75 worth of food to completely fill a pantry, and together we can make sure no child in Pickens County goes hungry this summer.

If you’re unable to adopt a week, you can still help by making a financial donation toward pantry food purchases.

It's Mental Health Monday! Today's reminder is "You have always been enough."

At rock bottom or at your very best, you are enough.
Even when you don't believe it, you are enough.
If no one else has told you, hear it from us,
YOU ARE ENOUGH AND YOU ALWAYS HAVE BEEN!

Today was our first gathering of the Jasper Craft Crew at the Community Resource Center, and it was a wonderful reminder of how important it is to have spaces where people can connect, create, and build community together.

Whether you're interested in crafts, books, support groups, volunteer projects, or something entirely new, we believe community happens when people come together around shared interests and experiences.

Looking for a group to join? We may have one for you. Have an idea for a group you'd like to start? We'd love to help make it happen.

Georgia is ranked 39th in the nation in child and family well-being in the 2026 KIDS COUNT Data Book, released today by the Annie E. Casey Foundation. Georgia has not been among the bottom 10 states since 2017—but recent progress has stalled. The state’s challenges are most evident in health outcomes, where Georgia fell six places to 45th, even as economic well-being improved two spots to 34th. https://bit.ly/4av3RPx
