My favorite project from last year! We got to stain it earlier in the spring once the lumber had dried and established itself. We used western red cedar for the boxes, railings, and column. Everything else was pressure treated pine.

Let me know if you would like something similar!

My lovely wife and I are expanding our food growing chops this year. Trying some new stuff out like pumpkins, potatoes, squash, tumeric (thanks Ms Johnson), peppers, and about 5 different berries.

Here’s our first ripened cayenne pepper! And the plants that got it done. What should we make?

These are the Bonsai trees from my collection that I’m most excited about this season! From left to right they are: 1. Hinoki Cypress 2. Sekka Hinoki Cypress 3. Hinoki Cypress 4. Chinese Juniper

I really would like to get in touch with more people who are interested in Bonsai! I’m considering starting a club for my neighborhood but I need to garner some more interest first. So here we are.

This was a fun one! Our customer had these beautiful oak veneered doors in the entryway of their home. Over the years, the bottoms had begun to delaminate and there was a potential for rot. We caught it in time, and replaced everything that had weathered too severely, while trying to retain as much of the original material as possible.

We sourced the new 1/8” oak veneer, did all the repairs, and then sprayed two coats of Sherwin Williams satin black per the customers design. We also elected to install the brass kick plates on the bottom.

We had the customer’s front doors at our shop for a little over a week, and so we temporarily installed some plywood doors to keep the elements out.

Even with products like hardiplank you can develop water damage in spots like this on your house. Here you can see that the lower siding boards, the trim, and even the sheathing behind was starting to fall apart on this chimney.

This was an easy fix, we replaced everything with fresh materials and gave it a quick coat of paint!

This was fun! The customer had an outdated looking kitchen island with a granite top, but had always wanted a butcher block. We refinished their island with Sherwin Williams cabinet paint and replaced the counter top.

In this particular case, we removed the island from the customers home and took it back to our shop to perform the work. This way we could cut down on noise, dust, paint smells, etc and simply return to install the finished product.

They liked the color so much we ended up doing their living room mantle as well!

One of our projects this week was replacing this staircase leading to our customers front door. It was original to the house (20 years old) and was beginning to rot and sink. Customer requested the same style, but a little wider.

It’s deck season! 120 square feet repainted with two coats with Sherwin-Williams “Floor and Porch.” We did the railings, trim around the screen porch and the decking. Everything was in great shape so it took the color nicely!

I built this very simple quilting table for a customer over a few afternoons. The stipulations here were that it be exactly 39” by 72”, and that the counter top be removable without tools so that both cabinets can be moved around separately. This was so that it can leave the room it’s in without having to get out the axe. Customer will be painting it some wacky colors. Fun project!

This was a fun one, building three 4’x12’ raised planter beds for an aspiring vegetable grower. We surrounded it with a simple wire fence because the customer may want to move it or expand it in the near future. Hopefully deer, rabbits, etc take the hint but they are pretty crafty.

Boxes are non treated 2x10’s with a 2x4 cap. We lined them with some w**d fabric to help keep the dirt getting delivered later in place.
