A VBAC is a vaginal delivery after a previous cesarean delivery. Here are some helpful tips that will help with your success in this journey.

1) Find a provider that supports your VBAC journey. A doctor you can trust is one of the first steps in a great birth plan.

2) Consider hiring a doula. Doula’s come with knowledge and the extra comfort and support needed especially during labor and delivery. It helps the transition of new experience go as smoothly as possible.

3) Educate yourself. During your entire pregnancy, spend some time researching basic knowledge, success stories, information on your provider and doula, etc. Doing so will elevate your birth plan.

4) Avoid induction. Induction is prone to lead to c-section. Attempting to labor naturally will increase your chances in a successful VBAC.

5) Stat positive. The mind is your most powerful tool. Positive thoughts and intentions can only lead to positive results.

Every heard of the term “Belly Birth”? The phrase is used to describe a Cesarean Section Birth.

“You're birthing your child through your belly. There are many women who feel as though they've failed by having a C-section, and that's just not the case. Using the term “belly birth” pushes the point that we, too, have given birth. It's just more inclusive.”

No matter what it is called, the most important thing to remember is that all births are valid! A healthy mom and a healthy baby is what we need to shine the light on.

If your pregnancy is free of complications and your overall health is normal, you're likely to have about 15 prenatal visits during your pregnancy with your provider.

After pregnancy you usually only get one postpartum check-up 3-6 weeks after birth. It is recommended to schedule a general health check-up 12 weeks after giving birth.

Well, the major purposes of postpartum and postnatal care are to maintain and promote the health of the woman and her baby and to foster an environment that offers help and support to the extended family and community for a wide range of related health and social needs.
