Neglected to post these earlier in March – I did make it out to the Cu**er Museum for the monthly Portrait Drawing class. It's amazing what you can do with some old graphite pencils and conté crayons from 30 years ago...

Back from a bout with the crud. Was in desperate need of some to make it through this bout.

The challenge to portrait drawing is not in copying the shapes, values, or textures, but in finding the unique details that make the subject who they are.

Starting the month off right with another portrait drawing session. Time to get my hands dirty.

After nearly a year, I was able to get back to the **erMuseum, pull up a "drawing horse," and sully my aged, creaky hands with charcoal while portrait drawing for a few hours. Always such a fun vibe with this group that meets monthly.

Another "Saturday Morning Cartoons" in the (sketch)books with the OG team. Join me again tomorrow at 10am (ish) for some more 80s goodness.

We had the best cartoons in the 80s. No one can tell me otherwise. I'll be back this weekend with more Saturday Morning Cartoon (sketching) too!

If art was a team sport, 2025 would be a "rebuilding season" at best. The year started off strong — I was getting back into the groove with regular posting, and even attending studio classes for the first time in nearly 30 years.

But by May, I fell off the wagon when I was hospitalized for a week, and getting my groove back just didn't happen. Hopefully the new will bring new inspiration as I still have a lot to learn, and a very long way to go — whatever that ends up being.
