Our Intermodal Container Transfer Facility opened to commercial traffic one year ago this week.

In addition to the facility’s operational benefits—including speeding up the shipment process and reducing the number of trucks on the roads—the ICTF has also played a significant role in moving containers needed to ship relief cargo to Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria.

The ICTF was funded through state and federal grants and serves both our Blount Island and TraPac seaport terminals.
