One of my 2024 goals is to get out from behind the computer to get moving, meet new people, and spend time with those I know and love. So for all my Jax peeps, come walk with me!
👟Our FIRST Walk With A Doc for the NE Florida Chapter was a small but mighty gathering with plans to grow even more! 🌱 Starting with a 5-10 minute health talk on the Lifestyle Medicine pillar of "Social Connection," we walked over 2 miles, connecting and discussing what constitutes true health. It was so nice to meet a few new friends AND break a sweat! Special thanks to my hubby Bryan Spell for going along with all my shenanigans and working the camera to capture the day.
💬 Interested in social connection? Check out Harvard's ongoing Study of Adult Development - started in the 1930's to see what goes RIGHT in life: adultdevelopmentstudy.org & Dr. Waldinger's TED Talk: https://youtu.be/8KkKuTCFvzI?si=aGVrqlTG5-IcPu7K. The power of close connections can help you live longer with less disease. Woo-hoo! 🎉
As fellow 🌳NAMsters🌈 Melissa Sundermann, DO, DipABLM, FACLM, and Deborah Chielli, APRN, DipACLM can attest, we also explored the healing benefits of nature! 🌴☀️🌺 Dive into the evidence-based science of 'Forest Bathing'—because nature is not just scenic, it's restorative.

PS - I'm not a doc, but NPs, PAs, MDs, and DOs can lead chapters of Walk With A Doc. It's an amazing movement started almost 20 years ago by a Cardiologist in OH, Dr. David Sabgir with chapters around the globe.

Look at this! A little love from spinach. ❤️
I was just talking to someone about flipping the script when it comes to making dinner. The little voice inside my head can get a little frustrated with the prospect of dinner, so instead I’ve been reframing my thoughts to include things like “These vegetables are beautiful” & having gratitude for all that went into bringing it to me now - the sun, soil, rain, people, etc. How do YOU flip the script on your negative thoughts? ~ Susan Gail Spell

Dr. Bredesen has shown that Alzheimer’s Disease is not one disease, but is the end product of many different disease processes that are ongoing for decades before the disease is picked up by “Modern Medical Practices”. By optimizing the factors that contribute to brain health before disease occurs, we optimize brain function giving people improved clarity, focus and mental wellbeing.
