The pathology from my surgery came back and my surgeon's office reported that there was no cancer to be found. I knew in faith that this was the case--had a peace that could have only come from Almighty God--but it's still a relief to hear those results. ” - Jamie

πŸ’™ What an amazing first day! πŸ’™

We would like to officially welcome the inaugural cohort of high school interns to the Cellular Journeys and CancerQuest Internship Program!

Today was filled with enthusiasm, creativity, collaboration, and so much potential. We spent time getting to know one another, sharing our mission, exploring project opportunities, and listening to the incredible ideas these students brought to the table.

From cancer awareness campaigns and educational videos to website development, social media outreach, fundraising initiatives, laboratory communication projects, and community events, our interns are already thinking about how they can make a meaningful impact.

What impressed us most was not only their talent and curiosity, but also their genuine desire to help others and contribute to something larger than themselves.

We are excited to mentor and learn alongside this remarkable group over the coming weeks and cannot wait to see their ideas come to life.

Thank you to each student and family for placing your trust in us. This is just the beginning of an exciting journey!

✨ One Team. One Mission. One Impact. ✨

Mass. high school to undergo testing after several female teachers diagnosed with breast cancer "It is, of course, possible that these multiple cases are not connected to one another, but out of abundance of caution, we are looking into any environmental factors at the school that may be a factor in their diagnoses."

🌎 World Environment Day

When we think about cancer prevention, we often focus on genetics, lifestyle choices, and medical screenings. But our environment plays an important role too.

The air we breathe, the water we drink, the products we use, and the places where we live and work can all influence our long-term health.

Research has linked environmental exposures such as air pollution, ultraviolet radiation, to***co smoke, asbestos, radon, and certain industrial chemicals to increased cancer risk. While not all cancers can be prevented, reducing harmful exposures is one way we can help protect ourselves and future generations.

πŸ’š A healthier planet supports healthier lives.

This World Environment Day, let's remember that protecting our environment isn't just about conserving natureβ€”it's also about protecting human health.

🌱 What is one change you've made to reduce environmental exposures in your home or daily life?

πŸŽ—οΈ Could cancer cells be hiding in the body long after treatment ends?

Researchers are learning that some cancer cells may enter a hidden "sleep mode," remaining dormant in the body for months, years, or even decades before potentially becoming active again.

These dormant cells are now believed to play an important role in cancer recurrence and metastasisβ€”and understanding how they survive could help researchers develop better treatments in the future.

🧬 Why do these cells survive?
🧬 What causes them to "wake up" again?
🧬 Could future therapies target them before recurrence occurs?

πŸ’¬ Have you ever heard the term "cancer dormancy" before? Were you aware that some cancer cells can remain inactive for years after treatment?

You are stronger than you know.
You are not alone.
And your story matters.

πŸ‘‡ Share how long you've been a survivor or one piece of advice you'd give someone just starting their cancer journey.
