Hard Pressed Burgers just landed in San Marco — and Jax, this one's been earned.
Jacksonville's most-loved smash burger crew has officially opened at 1636 Hendricks Ave., right next door to Boudreau Wine & Company.

This is their first brick-and-mortar, and co-owners Eddie Evans and Justin Pa'ala aren't just flipping burgers here — they're expanding the menu. Think buffalo chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, possibly fried fish, and yes, beer and wine.

If you've ever had the smash burger or those legendary beer cheese fries from the truck at Jax Beach or Murray Hill, you already know. If you haven't — San Marco is your moment.

The food trucks aren't going anywhere either. This is Hard Pressed growing up — without losing what made it great.

Oxford Place is opening this May in Old Ortega and Jax, this one is worth the wait. 🤍

The Brown family restaurant group is bringing Southern dining to the historic Oxford & Corinthian building at 2902 Corinthian Ave, a 1923 flatiron on the National Register of Historic Places. Chef Thomas White (formerly of Matthew’s) is leading the kitchen with a seasonally changing menu. Think NOLA BBQ shrimp, blackened redfish with Hoppin’ John, and a grit soufflé with bacon beurre blanc.

120 seats, full craft cocktail bar, dinner first, brunch coming soon. Built for the neighborhood, open to everyone.

It's official — Keke's Breakfast Cafe has opened its doors in Mandarin.
The new location is at 11112 San Jose Blvd, Suite 23, and is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. That puts it right in the heart of Mandarin, inside Claire Lane Center — two doors down from Ulta Beauty and four storefronts from Mandola's Italian Kitchen.

Keke's is hosting a Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, April 18. All guests get a free small stack of pancakes with purchase, complimentary coffee coupons, and a raffle every hour to win breakfast for two for a month.

The Mandarin cafe marks the brand's fifth Jacksonville location and the second owned and operated by franchisees John Metz and Vic Cuda of RREMC Restaurants. "We're excited to officially be part of the Mandarin community," said Metz.

The build-out: Contractor Regional Construction Services handled the 3,766-square-foot tenant build-out, valued at $195,000.

Keke's already has five Northeast Florida locations, including spots at St. Johns Town Center, Durbin Park, St. Augustine, and Oakleaf Town Center. Denny's Inc. has owned Keke's since July 2022.

Whole Foods Is Almost Here — Downtown Jacksonville's Most Anticipated Opening Is Happening in 2026

The wait is almost over, Jacksonville. After years of anticipation, demolition, and construction, a brand-new Whole Foods Market at 1 Riverside Ave. is racing toward its opening — and if you live or work Downtown, this one's for you.

Jacksonville has officially approved a $7.5 million tenant build-out for the 38,300-square-foot store, part of the larger $250 million One Riverside development along the Northbank riverfront.

The build-out permit was issued in September 2025 to RCC Associates of Deerfield Beach, with plumbing, electrical, fire system, and mechanical permits already issued — work is actively underway.

The Downtown Investment Authority has set a retail completion target of September 30, 2026 — meaning Jacksonville's newest Whole Foods could be opening its doors before the end of this year.
What's Inside
The store will feature dedicated meat, produce, seafood, bakery, grocery, prepared foods, body care, and specialty sections — plus seating inside for customers to eat. Jax Daily Record Think grab-and-go lunch on the river.

More Than Just a Grocery Store
This isn't a standalone opening — it's the anchor of a whole new neighborhood. Right next door, an 8,000-square-foot retail building is filling up fast, with a Solidcore workout studio already in permit review. The upscale Japanese restaurant Norikase by Pearl Hospitality Group is also targeting a spring or summer 2026 opening on the ground floor of the One Riverside apartments.

Brooklyn is becoming Jacksonville's most exciting zip code for food and lifestyle — and it's almost showtime.

A conveyor belt full of sushi is coming to Jacksonville's Southside — and it's moving into the old Ho***rs spot.

Supra Revolving Sushi Bar has signed a lease on the 6,250-square-foot space next to Cinemark Tinseltown — the same building Ho***rs called home from 2007 until it shuttered last June after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

This is an all-you-can-eat kaiten-style joint, meaning your food rides a conveyor belt right to your table — think airport baggage claim, but way more delicious.

Each dish comes sealed in a sanitary bubble capsule, and if you miss something the first time around, don't sweat it — it loops back in a few minutes.

Once you're seated, you're working off a touchscreen menu packed with sushi rolls, ramen, hibachi, apps, and salads. Lunch and dinner service both on deck.

Right now, Supra only has one other location — up in Linden, New Jersey — so Jacksonville would be just their second spot in the country. Big deal for the 904.

No permits filed yet and no opening date announced, so we're in the early stages — but the lease is signed and the space is spoken for. We'll be watching permits closely and keeping you posted.
