Recently I was invited to record a conversation with Steffany Aye - the founder and director of of Adoption & Beyond - for the benefit of her clients and anyone wanting to learn more about adoption and how much it has changed.

I reached out to Steffany to help me get the word out about healthy open adoption. It is important to me to work with adoption professionals who are ethical and support birth parents and adoptive families beyond placement. Since Steffany is a member of the Birth Parent Support Alliance (formerly On Your Feet Foundation), I knew I would be in good hands.

You can listen to and watch the conversation:

Please share with anyone you know who is part of, or considering becoming part of, the adoption constellation.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day friends!
Surrounded by all this green makes me grateful for my green theme for The Branches We Cherish. Those beautiful branches represent my children's birth family tree. What a wonderful reminder that we are all connected. We expand our families, we don't replace them. We are blessed today and always.

Listen to (and watch) my interview about open adoption that aired live this morning:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BacVz8j8tMM

Anne Schindler, the host of radio First Coast Connect, WJCT Public Media (NPR) and I discussed the importance of connecting adopted children to their biological families when it is safe and possible. Fortunately, today most domestic adoptions are open and connected, rather than closed and secretive as was the previous norm. We talked about how healthy openness in adoption can be for the adopted person.
The program is about an hour long and my 10 minute interview starts at about minute 32. To learn more or request me as a speaker please visit lindarsexton.com.

Thanks to Tom Hitchcock, Julia McDermott, Ralph DeFalco and Jane Buyers for sharing their experiences honestly and openly. There is no right publishing option - only the one that is right for you!
