JH Positive Training

A short clip of Dimple learning the “how to do” rather than the “what to do”, so she can take responsibility for handling sheep well without being told what to do. You’ll hear me offer her feedback for what she does well and reminders about when she should be thoughtful, but no cues. I’m using my position and the position of the sheep so doing what is ideal makes sense to her. For more about "the how versus the what", and shifting responsibility to our dogs, check out next week’s Good Dog column in the JH News and Guide (the weekly version). And if the idea of herding with your dog intrigues you, we’ll be offering herding workshops this summer!!! Email [email protected] for more info or to join the contact list.
