Students in Mrs. McElroy's Academic Strategies class spent Friday's class creating a floor plan for their "dream house" and finding its composite area. They are spending today's class "furnishing" their dream house and practicing their subtraction and money skills.

This year, students participated in a goal-setting activity where they created both a personal and academic goal for themselves. To celebrate their hard work and growth, our amazing Partners in Education helped provide a fun treat for everyone to enjoy.

We truly appreciate the support from First State Community Bank and all they do for our students and staff at JMS!

Mrs. Diebold and Mrs. Brady's ELA classes have been presenting their natural disaster research projects this week. Students had to create a driving question, research various questions related to their topic, and then create a project to present to their classmates.

Today was another successful Jackson Middle School carnival day! Our students had a blast!
We want to give a huge shout out to our amazing PTO, parent volunteers, faculty and staff, custodians, cafeteria staff, and JR2 maintenance crew for helping make this day happen!

The Jackson Middle School Math Team competed at the State Math Competition today in Columbia, Missouri! This team placed 3rd in the State in Division 6!

Cash Yeargain placed 4th on the Target Test. Donovan Kearney placed 2nd in the Number Sense Round. Cash Yeargain, Maverick Brumfield, and Nikolai Solevev placed 5th on the Team Test.

Donovan Kearney placed 2nd place overall and Matthew Conklin placed 8th place overall; qualifying them both for the National Math Competition this summer in Houston, Texas!! Everyone did an AMAZING JOB!!!

Showcase JMS was another big success this year. We appreciate everyone who came out to see all the amazing work our students have done this year. Thank you to all our JMS teachers and staff for putting in your time and energy into this event. A HUGE Shoutout to Mr. Kohm for organizing everything!

Another PTO auction winner had a great day at JMS! 💅✨

Landree got to spend time with Mrs. Ashlynne today painting nails and having some fun together. We love getting to create special memories and experiences for our students through our PTO auction prizes!

A huge THANK YOU to STG Cards and Collectables and Off-Meta Gaming for their incredible support of our Magic Club!

STG generously donated Ninja Turtle, Bloomburrow, and Secrets of Strixhaven cards, along with promo cards and pins for all of our students. They also went above and beyond by donating a TMNT Commander Deck for the winner of our 6-week Commander tournament!

Off-Meta Gaming also spoiled our students with promo packs, deck boxes, sets of dice, playmats, and even more cards for everyone to enjoy.

Because of their generosity, every student walked away with so many prizes and had an amazing experience. We are incredibly grateful for both shops—our students are already excited to do it all again!

As we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, we want to take a moment to share how truly proud and honored we are of our teachers.

They do so much more than deliver instruction. They are mentors, role models, encouragers, and a steady source of support for our students each and every day. The passion, patience, and care they bring into our building does not go unnoticed.
We see the long hours, the emotional investment, and the countless ways they show up for kids—even on the hardest days.

For many of our students, our teachers are more than educators—they are a trusted adult, a sense of stability, and sometimes the very best part of a student’s day.

The love they have for our students is real, and it creates a school where students feel safe, valued, and believed in.

Let’s show some extra love and appreciation to our incredible teachers this week—they deserve it more than words can express.

To our Jackson Middle School teachers—thank you for everything you do. You make a difference that lasts far beyond the classroom.
