Poppy Member Spotlight: meet Arlin Yrastorza.

A mother of three, former real estate agent, and writer of poetry, Arlin brings warmth into Poppy. You’ll often find her starting a conversation with someone new in the kitchen…the true embodiment of what it means to feel welcome and at home in our space.

What led you to joining Poppy?

I heard about it through one of the founding members and was very intrigued to find a quiet place to work and connect with other women in Jackson. I loved Heather Smith and her vision and couldn’t wait to jump in.

What do you do and why does this work matter to you?

I am a relationship-builder, encourager, and connector who finds joy in helping people.

After a career in commercial real estate and raising three wonderful children, I entered a season of purposeful service through board work, ministry involvement, and investing deeply in others. My sweet spot is mentoring, encouraging, and gathering people in meaningful ways that foster connection, growth, and community. I’m energized by seeing potential in others.

What are you currently building or excited about in this season of your work/life?

I call it “the ministry of availability” and each day looks different as I alluded to in the above paragraph! I enjoy I like writing poems and short reflections and hope to write more as time allows! I’m considering taking a coaching course.

What sets Poppy apart from the rest of the spaces you’ve worked or been a member of in the past?

The community of people that are all working on interesting things and want to see each other flourish and connect here in Jackson. Plus the space is gorgeous.

Favorite Poppy perk?

The yummy coffee, the fresh faces that greet you, and the engaging purposeful events!

We want to be the easiest part of your day.

Women+ spend so much of their day anticipating needs, solving problems, and taking care of everyone else. Poppy was designed to escape from the daily duties, even if only for a few hours (we’ve been known to have mother’s seek refuge at Poppy during school breaks).

When you walk through our doors, everything is ready for you. No asking, no figuring it out, no extra decisions to make.

Coffee is hot and ready.

Space is clean.

Energy feels calm & welcoming.

Because Poppy should be the easiest part of your day. A place where you don’t have to take care of anything…except what matters most to you.

Come take a tour or experience it for yourself

Poppy’s coworking space and executive suites were designed with intention: for women+, by women.

We understand that building a business or working in the thick of motherhood can feel nearly impossible in spaces with bad lighting, stale coffee, and constant distractions.

From our first location on Pearl Ave to the transformation of our sister space, Poppy Executive Suites, that intention has remained the same. We’ve created an environment where our members and their clients have the room to breathe, express themselves, and do meaningful work.

Because the space you’re in shapes what you’re able to create.

Poppy’s growth in under two years has been incredible to witness, and it’s only possible because of the women+ who choose to build their work and lives within this community.

Come join us this summer! DM us for membership tiers or office options that will allow you to flourish

A special moment we had to memorialize and share.

In celebration of Mother’s Day, Poppy members Lindsay Linton and Jennifer Griffith hosted an evening centered around saying YES to yourself — especially as a woman, and doubly as a mother.

Jennifer shared the personal process behind writing ‘Both Sides of Then’, a love letter to her mother and a source of healing for herself. She left the room silent with one powerful question: “Who knows their mother? Now, who knows who their mother was before she became a mother?”

Lindsay shared the story behind Women Shaping the West, a storytelling and photography project written inside the walls of Poppy. In the thick of motherhood with two young boys, she spoke vulnerably about the hard stuff, like putting dreams on pause, and then finally giving this project the YES it deserved.

We closed the evening with reflection prompts, giveaways to pamper the moms in the audience and reminders that women deserve platforms where their stories are heard. We’re so honored to have women like these two be members in our space.

All proceeds from ticket sales for this event went to who’s mission to help mothers we deeply support 🧡

If you’ve ever felt unheard or dismissed in a doctors office (especially around the age of perimenopause or menopause) keep reading to see what our founder, Heather Smith, did to actually get through to the other side:

“For years I carried a diagnosis that never quite fit—and ya’ll, it was a biggie that was sure to reduce my lifespan. It sent me to Salt Lake once a month and kept me on heavy medication for something I didn’t actually have. I kept showing up to appointments with specialists feeling unseen and unheard, like my own instincts about my body didn’t matter.

Adair changed that. She didn’t treat my symptoms like a game of whack-a-mole. She went searching for the root cause.

And she found it. It didn’t take long (I’m talking 2-3 months), until I was feeling like my best self again.

I keep going back to Adair Flynt for one reason: she believes me when I tell her what I’m feeling in my own body.

It’s the women of Poppy who led me to her. Of course they did. Because that’s what we do here.

Chances are if you’re reading this, then you’re on Adair’s long waitlist! Join us THIS Monday at 530 for an eye opening conversation in community with other women who get exactly what you’re going through.

It always feels better to be in a room that gets it.”
