This is the best time of the year to get pruning done while trees are dormant, meaning they've dropped their leaves and are slowing their growth to survive winter.

These trees include Maples, Oaks, Birch, Elm, ash, pine, and other deciduous trees.

With the lack of leaves, it's easier to shape the tree as you prefer and also identify diseases, and it reduces infections on cuts while trees are dormant, which will lead to faster spring healing.
