Our community was shaken by the incident at Slim Chickens in North Jackson. I want to first express my concern for everyone affected and reiterate that the safety and well-being of Jackson residents remain our top priority.

I am pleased to share that, thanks to the swift and diligent work of the Jackson Police Department (JPD), a suspect has been identified and taken into custody. JPD acted quickly and efficiently, demonstrating their dedication to protecting our city and ensuring justice. Their professionalism and commitment to public safety are evident in their rapid response to this incident.

This situation highlights the importance of the proactive measures JPD has implemented to combat crime throughout our community. From increased patrols and the use of advanced technology to strengthening partnerships with local businesses and community leaders, JPD continues to work tirelessly to maintain order and prevent crime.

As we move forward, I encourage everyone in Jackson to remain vigilant and to support our law enforcement efforts by reporting any suspicious activity. Together, we can build a safer and stronger community for all.

The City Council met yesterday to discuss what will be funded in the upcoming bond issue. In the coming months, you will see:

✅Over $5M invested in Public Safety
✅Nearly $6M invested in Quality of Life Enhancements
✅Over $5M invested in Infrastructure related projects
✅Over $9.3M invested in Street Repaving

I appreciate the collective work of the council to make these necessary investments in our city. These investments enhance our city's infrastructure and resources, improving our daily lives. They also position Jackson for long-term success, ensuring a thriving community for years to come.

Road conditions across the Hub City The snow has fallen in West Tennessee and many people are wondering about the road conditions.

This evening, I stopped by to talk with our Street Department crew as they got ready to head out and salt the roads. These guys work hard, often in tough conditions, to keep us safe, and I’m so thankful for their dedication.

If you can, please stay home and off the roads during this winter weather. Let’s all do our part to stay safe!

The City of Jackson will extend additional emergency services to provide a Temporary Warming Center. I’ve seen firsthand how hard you work, how much you care, and how deeply committed you are to keeping our city safe. Your dedication makes a difference in the lives of so many, and we’re incredibly grateful for you.

In 2024, the City of Jackson, TN - Government's Love Your Block - Jackson, TN program made over 70 critical repairs to 14 homes belonging to seniors on fixed incomes. These repairs are more than just fixes, they ensure our neighbors can stay safe and comfortable in the homes they love.

We took Rockafella to Hub City Animal Hospital, on December 30, to get him weighed to update his Simparica. At 6 months old, he weighs 97 lbs.
