It’s taken me some time to find the right words to memorialize my Ferdinand. As many of you know, he was quite the masculine bull. He towered over me like a giant, but he was truly as gentle as a mouse.

He was very photogenic - he loved people and he loved attention. He would roar and bellow and he sounded so vicious that he intimidated most people, but it was his way of getting attention so that he could get a scratch or a pat, or a good brushing. He was 2500 pounds of spoiled bull.

My Ferdinand will be sadly missed. I had not used him for a sire in several years because he had gotten so massive but his days of living his life at the farm were peaceful and long. At any given time with his size, he could have been ornery and very destructive, but instead he was quite content, just grazing and munching on good grass and hay.

My vet always said that Ferdy and I must really respect each other because if you asked him to load or unload from a trailer, he always did it willingly for me.

In all the years and all the cattle I’ve owned, he was the only bull that I could sit down by in the field while he was laying in the sun, and he was just content.

I will forever be grateful to Ferdinand, not only for being the sire he was, but for being a gentle soul during the storms I’ve weathered.

I truly appreciate your kind words and thoughtfulness. I have the best clients and friends.

Thank you to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our freedom.

It is something that no one that lives in the greatest country on earth should take lightly.

Happy Memorial Day.
