This 1950s Smith-Corona vintage typewriter may be my favorite part of The Sunday Paper.

There’s something about the sound of the keys, the ring of the bell, and words appearing on paper that never gets old.

Beginning Saturday, you’ll be able to choose your own favorite quote, prayer, memory, or message and type it onto handmade paper.

These little messages can be tucked away in a small envelope to be shared, or placed into a tiny frame as a reminder to return to.

Some words are worth keeping.

The Affirmations ❤️

Small papers. Small words. Gentle reminders to keep close.

I created a custom deckle specifically for making these tiny sheets of paper. Each piece is formed one at a time, with four deckled edges and a letterpressed affirmation.

There are currently 35 affirmations in the collection (and growing!)

I’ve curated a gift set of seven affirmations, which includes a hand-collected piece of Lake Michigan driftwood crafted into a stand, along with a cotton pouch for keeping them close.

You can also select your own affirmations and create a collection of your own!

Sometimes the smallest things become the reminders we return to most.

For The Sunday Paper, I’ve designed over 400 original letterpress plates (and counting!) for impression into handmade paper.

They’ve become greeting cards, quote prints, stationery sets, affirmations, intentions, messages of faith, and floral art papers.

A few of the ingredients ~

Cotton fiber.
Pressed botanicals.
And natural ochre pigments from France.

What surprised me most about making paper was how much of it cannot be rushed.

The pulp settles when it is ready. The colors soften in their own time. The sheets dry slowly in the sunshine and open air.

Every variation in texture, tone, and edge comes from the process itself.

No two are exactly alike.

Recently, my Sunday afternoons have become an experiment in fiber, pigment, patience, and time.

And slowly, sheet by sheet, The Sunday Paper began to take shape.

Notes.
Letters.
Prayers.
Memories.
Words we want to keep.

Before screens, paper carried so much of what mattered.

And I believe it still does.

A few months ago, I spent a Sunday afternoon making paper. What began as an experiment slowly became something much bigger than I expected.

Over the next few days, I’d love to share more of it with you.
