501(c)(3) nonprofit. Founded 1979 in beautiful Amador Co. for the past 300 years. A celebration in honor of Robert Burns the national poet of Scotland.
Our mission: to practice, preserve, & educate concerning Scottish/Celtic customs & traditions; provide scholarships for those showing an interest in Scottish/Celtic traditions. Mother Lode Scots came into being in 1979 when a small group wanting to provide an association for Scots and descendents of Scots who have been migrating from Scotland to the U.S. Mother Lode Scots, like their counterparts
