Our 3rd graders combined literacy and math today! 📚🐚

As part of our novel study of Sarah, Plain and Tall, students used seashells to skip count and create arrays while learning about multiplication. Inspired by Sarah’s gifts from the sea, they arranged shells into equal rows and columns to explore multiplication concepts in a hands-on, meaningful way.

First graders have been reading different versions of The Three Little Pigs. They got to do a stem activity today where they chose what kind of house to build. They could use toothpicks, popsicle sticks, or Legos. Then we got to test if the houses would stay standing when the big bad wolf (a hairdryer) came to blow them over!

Please help us celebrate three amazing staff members as they begin their retirement! 🎉

Thank you to Mr. Wendel for his years of dedication as a teacher—although we’re lucky enough to have him finish out his time with us during summer school! Thank you to Mrs. Betsy Buccheit for the care and support she provided as our occupational therapist, and to Mrs. Ann Harris for keeping our students fed with kindness as a food service cook.

Thank you for the impact you’ve made on our school community. Please join us in wishing them all the best in this exciting next chapter!
