Balance and coordination are skills our toddlers are practicing everyday by climbing, gripping and keeping up with their friends!

Sometimes the biggest lessons come from simple repetitions linking actions to reactions, like placing a ball on a track and observing its path from start to finish. Silent independent play is learning in disguise.

Play-based learning at CLC is purposeful: teachers observe, scaffold and extend children’s interests to build the cognitive and social skills that lead to long-term success.

Ever wonder what our staff are up to on in-service days?

During our May 15 in-service, CLC teachers gathered at the library to focus on intentionally supporting children’s development across key learning areas. Using Creative Curriculum lesson plans, developmental objectives for each age group, and engaging classroom materials, teachers collaborated on ways to plan meaningful daily experiences that build fine motor, gross motor, math, and literacy skills.

Circle time at CLC combines stories, songs and group routines that strengthen attention, turn-taking, and early literacy skills.
