Congratulations to Mingo Thames, Graphic Designer, who was named the most recent FMOL Health | St. Dominic Franciscan Service Award recipient. The Franciscan Service Award is the highest honor a team member can receive across our health system for those who go above and beyond to exemplify the values of our organization and to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.
For more than 15 years, Mingo has brought exceptional talent, humility, and heart to his work. He understands that in a mission centered healthcare ministry, design is not simply decoration — it is an expression of dignity, clarity, and love. Angelia Sona, Provider Network Coordinator and former MarComm team member, shared, “Mingo demonstrates a true passion for our ministry’s mission and for the importance of caring for the whole person. He is the quiet heart of our team.”
A gifted and thoughtful designer, Mingo elevates every project he touches, including the beautiful historical mural he created on the hospital’s lower level. MarComm Strategist Trevis Badeaux describes him as someone who brings positivity and a can-do spirit to every challenge: “He is the soothing, calming voice of wisdom in many conversations… a moral and professional compass who helps everyone find the most effective, compassionate way forward.”
Mingo’s commitment to service extends well beyond our walls. Through his church, he helped expand a soup kitchen ministry to reach elderly and underserved neighbors in rural communities. As a devoted father, he took advantage of the opportunity to teach his children the art and joy of service, having them join him on the soup kitchen serving lines.
Please join us in thanking Mingo for his extraordinary dedication and compassion. We are grateful to have him as part of our ministry family.

Recently, FMOL Health | St. Dominic proudly joined the American Cancer Society’s Taste of Hope, supporting a powerful mission to end cancer as we know it.
Taste of Hope brings together chefs, community leaders, and supporters for an evening dedicated to raising critical funds and awareness for cancer research, advocacy, and patient support programs.
We were honored to have Dr. Eric Balfour and his wife, Linda represent St. Dominic at this meaningful event, standing alongside others committed to caring for individuals and families impacted by cancer.
Our mission guides us in providing compassionate care—and partnering with organizations like the American Cancer Society allows us to extend that care beyond clinical settings and into the community.

After being in the NICU since his birth on January 29, baby Imari finally got to go home! Our team lined the halls to celebrate his incredible journey and homecoming on May 23. Born at just 23.5 weeks and weighing 1 lb 4 oz, Imari has shown strength, resilience, and heart.
Today, he’s a thriving 7 lbs 2 oz, loving every moment of eating, snuggling, sleeping, and playing. Watching him head home with his family was a moment filled with joy, gratitude, and happy tears.
Watch the video to see this beautiful milestone and the team who cheered him on every step of the way.
