After becoming overwhelmed with the amount of wa

Welcome to HFR’s newest staff member, Anna Durrans!
Anna joins our team as the Program Coordinator, overseeing all of HFR’s food access programs.
She grew up in Utah, and spent many years working as a river rafting guide in Utah, Wyoming, and Alaska. After spending the winter in Jackson, she decided to make this her home and joined the HFR team this May. We’re so glad she did!
Fun fact: Anna has eaten an entire watermelon on top of the Grand!

At Hole Food Rescue, we like to celebrate Friday with a plate of rescued tropical fruit!
All of the food on this plate was rescued from local grocery stores. So many resources were used to grow this fruit, then transport it all the way to Wyoming. Wasted food means wasted resources. Instead, we like to rescue food and feed people, not landfills!

This month, head to the Library for Hole Food Rescue’s book collection!
We are partnering with Teton County Library’s Community Picks Display. With the help of our local librarians, we created a collection of books about food, community, and the systems that connect us.
Check out these collections in the Main Wing & Children’s Wing through May 31!
Thank you Teton County Library for your partnership!

Happy Earth Day from Hole Food Rescue! Reducing food waste is a core part of our mission and an important climate solution.
In the U.S., we throw away 60 million tons of food every year. Food is the #1 item in our landfills, making up 24% of everything that we throw away.
Wasted food emits methane gas - a greenhouse gas 80 times more powerful than carbon dioxide.
So far, Hole Food Rescue has rescued 3.6 million pounds of food from going to the landfill, reducing our community’s climate impact and feeding our neighbors at the same time.
