⚠️ Jackson Public Schools is beginning demolition work at several former school sites this month.

If you live near these locations, you may notice trucks and equipment, daytime noise, dust control measures, temporary traffic adjustments, and restricted access around active work areas.

Demolition at the former French Elementary site is scheduled for June 15–17. Demolition dates for the former Baker Elementary and Woodville Heights Elementary sites will be announced later.

JPS is committed to completing this work safely and responsibly in coordination with local officials. We appreciate the community's patience and ask everyone to use caution near active work zones.

📚 The Jackson Public Schools Parent and Family Engagement Center is excited to support scholars throughout the summer by providing free books to enrolled JPS scholars. Summer reading helps prevent learning loss, strengthens literacy skills, and encourages a lifelong love of reading. Scholars are encouraged to select books that match their interests and reading levels and are required to read at least three books during the summer break. Free books are available at the Parent and Family Engagement Center, located at the Raines Administrative Complex, to help scholars stay engaged, build vocabulary, and return to school ready for success.

As part of AI Month, Bean Path is hosting Teens & Tacos — an interactive experience created for teens ages 12–18 to explore artificial intelligence in a way that’s relevant, engaging, and easy to connect to everyday life.

Participants will enjoy tacos while diving into honest conversations around AI, breaking down common myths, exploring the pros and cons, and discussing how this technology is already shaping the world around them.
