For the families and farmers living on the front lines of human-wildlife conflict, this film wasn’t just a story — it was their story. 🦁
Kuishi Na Simba (Living with Lions), a 2025 JWMA Impact Campaign finalist, brought that story back to the Serengeti communities at its heart, and went on to reach 11,000 people across Tanzania and stream in 166 countries across the globe 🌍
In this exclusive interview, director and cinematographer Erica Rugabandana () joins producers Jacqueline Farmer and Julie Busse, hosted by impact producer Alex Pearson, to break down the full impact story — from bush screenings beside a Land Cruiser to a national broadcast on Boxing Day.

A century of life and an ever-lasting legacy. Happy 100th birthday to the one and only, Sir David Attenborough
From the grand migrations and displays of the planet’s largest animals, to the tiny, underrated, and underappreciated creatures whose quiet work forms the very foundation of life on Earth. For decades, he has brought these stories of all scales to screens and hearts across the world. The filmmakers behind the Jackson Wild Media Award-winning ‘Ocean with David Attenborough’ said it best: “Quite simply, he is one of the greatest storytellers of our time.”
A Jackson Wild Legacy Award honoree in 1999 and continuing presence in our circles to this day, we are forever grateful for the work he has done, the emerging filmmakers he has inspired, and the millions who encountered his films and went out to make the world one step better, for people, planet, and all creatures on it.
Happy birthday to this storytelling legend 💚🌍🌿
