Wilcox Gallery in Jackson, Wyoming, will host a solo show for 25-year-old painter, Kyle Ma, July 5. The show will open with a reception that will include a live demonstration and an auction of the piece after he completes it. This will be Ma’s fifth solo show at the gallery.

There are worse places to paint on location. The balsamroot has been spectacular this spring!

We are happy to say that our normal Wildlife and Wildlands show is back going full swing, after toned down versions the last few years. Tonight, Friday was supposed to be our yummy offerings of food to share while you visit with some of the gallery artists….however…..We Had to Change it to Saturday night so we can attend the Kerr memorial celebration of Life tonight at the museum. Please drop by Saturday from 5-8, sample Becky’s tasties, and visit with our attending artists. They are so talented and wonderful people!

The National Museum of Wildlife Art Show opened last night in Jackson and really had some outstanding art. Several of our gallery artists were in the show. Jim (Wilcox) had a piece this year that was a bit of a departure from his normal landscapes. See photo. It is called “Katmai Fish Market”, and shows two big Katmai griz “fishing” next to each other in the water, watching for the upstream salmon to streak by or jump to become their tasty dinner. We are in St. George/ Sand Hollow taking care of a few things, but we are enjoying beautiful weather and the beauties down here. Hiked to the petroglyphs yesterday, and today Gunlock Falls which are roaring with spring melt! Quite a sight!

It’s a real pleasure to actually see where the paintings that we sell to our clients end up hanging in their homes or businesses. This Jim Wilcix painting practically welded itself to the wall. Perfect for the spot, and very happy buyers.
