Our Story

Language Exchange JH is a collaboration between three organizations: Teton Literacy Center, Teton County Library and Central Wyoming College (CWC). The program started in 2012 with CWC, and has been a part of all three organizations since 2015. Ever since the start, the program has grown tremendously and has now transitioned into a more structured program, with a clear purpose:

How does Language Exchange JH work?
First step, you will get paired according to your language level, age, availability and interests. Next, you will receive an hour-long training at the public library. From there, you will meet your partner once a week, for one hour, at the time and place of your choice. Within that hour, you will practice conversational skills in one language for 30 minutes, and then switch to the other language for the remaining 30 minutes.

It is important to remember that the Language Exchange JH program is not a formal language class, but an opportunity to practice conversational skills in the language you are already learning.
