Welcome to the tribe, Miss Margaret Jean McGarr! Her parents are Connor and Morgan McGarr. Her mommy is a school counselor at West Lane Elementary.

The Jackson R-2 District Leadership team met today for professional development at Saint Francis Healthcare System in the Ignite CAPS space. While there, NASA astronaut Linda Godwin joined the group via Zoom as a guest speaker. Godwin is a 1970 graduate of Jackson High School. She shared stories about the legendary teachers she had while at JHS and the importance of education and community. She exemplifies Jackson R-2 strength and tradition!

Our JHS Music Department is a fixture in the community for spreading Christmas cheer! During the holiday season, they play and sing at many places across the community.

Ms. Lantz and Mrs. Miller’s classes at JHS wrapped up one last weekly community outing before break with a McDonald’s trip! Students practiced money and community skills, and Santa Andy added some extra Christmas magic by transporting our crew.
What a great way to end the semester!

The City of Jackson and the Jackson R-2 School District are excellent partners. Today, JR2 celebrated with Jackson officials and leaders at the official ribbon-cutting of the East Main sidewalk project. Many JR2 students and cross-country team runners will use the sidewalk, creating safer walkways and roadways for all.
