As people who have life in Christ, reconciliation in any context (spousal, parental, sibling, friends, ethnic, etc.) must be modeled after the ultimate act of reconciliation—that is, Jesus’ role in God’s reconciling us unto Himself. This pattern necessitates our efforts NOT being primarily about ourselves.

One cannot engage this pattern to the glory of God without the indwelling presence of The Holy Spirit and the commitment to obey The Great Commandment.

“I still believe that standing up for the truth of God is the greatest thing in the world. This is the end of life. The end of life is not to be happy. The end of life is not to achieve pleasure and avoid pain. The end of life is to do the will of God, come what may.” -Martin Luther King Jr.

Grateful for our members who strive toward the Beloved Community everyday.

"But the end is reconciliation; the end is redemption; the end is the creation of the beloved community. It is this type of spirit and this type of love that can transform opposers into friends. The type of love that I stress here is not eros, a sort of esthetic or romantic love; not philia, a sort of reciprocal love between personal friends; but it is agape which is understanding goodwill for all men. It is an overflowing love which seeks nothing in return. It is the love of God working in the lives of men. This is the love that may well be the salvation of our civilization." ~Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

A Note from the Director of the Center for Racial Reconciliation at Union University:

I want to thank Dr. James Allman for sharing the video post below with me. I have NOT chosen to repost it as a statement concerning Islam. Instead, I hope attention will be given to how authentic reconciliation—that is, God-authored reconciliation in any context (marital, familial, racial, etc.)—places the wounded or offended believer in a most peculiarly privileged position of being used of God as a “wounded healer” akin to the manner in which Jesus ( the ultimate “wounded healer”) chose to be used of The Father to reconcile us to Himself.

MOSAIC students joined with our Faculty-in-Residence for an interview earlier this week with Bryan Dawson, university professor of mathematics. Dawson and his wife are both Cherokee Nation citizens, and he answered questions related to family history and Cherokee history in general. We enjoyed hearing from Dr. Dawson and learning more about Cherokee heritage during this Fireside Forum event!
