First day of fall & already in our feelings 🍂 the shelves are looking emptier by the hour, but there’s a still another week to shop & visit us! Our last day is Saturday, September 30th.

Thank you to everyone who interacted with and shared last week’s announcement. It’s been a lot to process, but we are so grateful for the love.

📌 The last day to shop is Saturday, September 30th. All inventory MUST GO. Pay what you can — discounts will be applied at the register. This is a great time to do some early Christmas shopping (hint, hint)!

📌We’re no longer taking special orders, but you can order online through Bookshop! We’re an affiliate and receive payouts from each sale.

📌A special thank you to Turntable Coffee Counter for inviting us to share space with them and Greenhawk Records. It’s been wonderful to be a part of Downtown Jackson TN’s growth.

I want to let you know that I’ll be closing Light Trap at the end of September.

This was a hard but necessary decision to make, both for personal and financial reasons. Owning and running a small business is not for the faint of heart. Burnout is very real, and I’m currently experiencing it.

Rather than push through, I want to take some time to rest and care for myself. Admitting this feels embarrassing, but y’all — from the beginning, I’ve been in the people business, not the book business. It’s been such an honor to be a part of your lives and routines for the past three years, and to witness the community and companionship.

I hope to return to bookselling at some point in the future. I still believe Jackson needs a good bookstore, and I’d love to contribute in some form or another.
