This afternoon, we officially broke ground on the new chapel.

President Samuel W. "Dub" Oliver opened the ceremony citing Psalm 95:6.

"This chapel will testify to our deepest longings, to our eternal aspirations and to our commitment to future generations," Oliver said. "It will represent to all that the worship of God is the beginning and end of all learning and knowledge. It will also be a symbol of Union's determination to consecrate all of our days to the Lord Jesus Christ."

The G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel, which has faithfully served our campus since 1975, will hold a final service on April 22. We hope you'll join us to celebrate 50 years of memories before this next chapter begins.

We are so grateful for everyone who has prayed for and supported this vision.

🎉 Congratulations to Bronson Gutierrez, a high school senior from Canyon Lake, Texas, who has received the 2026 Founders' Scholarship!

When asked about his decision to come to Union, Bronson put it simply:

"I just got the picture that if I wanted to make my college experience a step up from where I am today — whether that be spiritually, career-wise, or academically — then Union is the place I needed to go. And I just felt like my faith would grow if I went here."
