Congratulations to our 2026 graduates. These six will take their place as the 56th graduating MLTs from Jackson State Community College.

Jackson State’s MLT program has celebrated all week - National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week. The Program admitted their first students in August 1969 - wow, a story into itself and still going strong today as one of the oldest MLT programs in the United States. Haley and Carla had fun this week, and come along as Woody gives you a tour of our lab!

The MLT Program would like to send congratulations out for two special occasions.

2021 JSCC graduates Marshall French, Terra Schwarz, and Samantha Couch at their Austin Peay Medical Laboratory Science white coat ceremony. These three classmates will be graduating as classmates once again this summer. The relationship the program has with APSU provides our graduates the opportunity to matriculate and advance in the clinical lab science profession with a bachelor’s degree.

Even more special is the challenge of achieving post-graduate level in our profession. We are aware of one in the last 20 years, so this shoutout is to Melinda Bell Ladner. Melinda was a 2009 JSCC MLT graduate, and a 2017 APSU MLS graduate. Melinda was recently awarded her MHA, Master of Health Administration.
