It has been nearly a quarter-century since Lauren Weisberger ’99 wrote her debut novel — a book, published when Weisberger was just 26, that became not merely a bestseller but a cultural sensation.
The story, inspired by her time at a prominent fashion magazine, has now spawned book sequels, two movies, and even a musical.
“I had this crazy year I worked at a fashion magazine; it was funny and weird, and I saw a lot of famous people and a lot of excess,” she recalls. “So I just started working on it.”
