Thank you DeWitt Middle School for having the Youth Exploration Program (YEP) Team during lunch today! It was great to meet youth and learn what kinds of things they wanted to explore. We heard all sorts of careers interests from "lawyer" to "digital artist" to "supply chain management"! In addition, youth participated in a mobile volunteer opportunity by making notes for Notes for Neighbors (Foodnet Meals on Wheels).

Last Tuesday, the Youth Exploration Program (YEP) visited Kissed by Korrin (located in the South Hill Business Campus) for a career/factory tour! Thank you, Korrin. Our participants (not all shown) learned about what a day in the life of an esthetician is, along with following unconventional paths in education. We even got a demonstration on YEP Coordinator Kevin! Want us to do this again? Let us know. 🌟💗

MEET THE 2026 LEARNING WEB APPRENTICES! (Part 3 of many)
Today, we are featuring one of two youth involved in an apprenticeship at Newfield CSD : Connor from the Town of Newfield! In addition, we check out Jay's (mentor) perspective.
A Learning Web apprenticeship is experience of your choosing which helps you explore a career path more in depth under the guidance of a skilled mentor. Apprenticeships can be paid or unpaid and can last up to 40 hours. We want to make our apprenticeships more accessible and visible to youth.
Thanks to the Legacy Foundation of Tompkins County and the Tompkins County Youth Services Department, we were able to support youth with paid opportunities.
