HOLT’s Kelly Maher AIA and Paul A. Levesque II were thrilled to attend the grand opening celebration of Hudson Headwaters Health Network's Malone Family Health medical office building in Malone, NY. Hudson Headwaters Health Network partnered with HOLT to develop this new 13,550-square-foot outpatient primary care facility. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Hudson Headwaters sought a modern healthcare environment to expand access to primary care services and create a welcoming, community-centered patient experience. The design vision focused on creating a medical office building that feels approachable and residential in character, allowing it to blend seamlessly into the surrounding neighborhood while maintaining a strong connection to the adjacent hospital campus. Natural light and views to the outdoors were prioritized throughout the facility to enhance the experience of both patients and staff and support overall wellness.

For more than 63 years, HOLT Architects has been designing environments that strengthen communities across New York State and beyond. Founded in 1963, our firm has grown through a commitment to thoughtful design, lasting client relationships, and a belief that architecture has the power to positively impact how people heal, learn, and live.
From healthcare and higher education to housing and community-focused projects, our history is rooted in collaboration, innovation, and service. While our tools and technologies have evolved over the decades, our core mission has remained the same: creating enduring, sustainably designed spaces that improve quality of life for the people who use them every day.
As we look toward the future, we remain grateful for the clients, partners, and communities who have trusted us along the way — and excited for the projects and relationships still to come.

HOLT is excited to see this funding announcement for East Hill Medical Center and Mozaic. HOLT is the architect for East Hill’s new facility, which will offer behavioral health, dental, and primary care services. In addition, this is another mall-to-medical office building conversion for HOLT. We are excited by the opportunity and challenge of reinvigorating existing retail spaces into environments that provide needed healthcare services to communities. The Mozaic project pictured in the article is the organization’s Center for Community Arts and Technology, which HOLT was proud to design.
