Miri Buckland was the co-founder + COO of Landing, a next-gen social platform for creativity and community. She raised $3M+ during seed and grew the app to 900k downloads. She was also the co-founder + co-CEO of Zeen, an AI-powered design tool. She attended Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and graduated with a B.A. in Economics and Management from the University of Oxford.

Naveen Gavini was the former CPO of Pinterest. As an early engineer (10th employee!) he was responsible for leading development of the popular and award-winning iOS application. Prior to Pinterest, Naveen was an engineer at Yahoo! where he worked on a number of their consumer applications. Naveen has a degree in Computer Science and Computer Engineering from Rutgers University.

Last Monday, we had the honor of inviting Andrea Ippolito of SimpliFed to share her entrepreneurship journey in health tech! She offered insights across many areas of entrepreneurship, especially fundraising, financial decision-making, and the risks of taking external investment. Even though she has an extremely busy schedule (she’s not only running her second startup; she’s both a guest lecturer at Cornell and mother of 3!), she still took the time out of her day to share invaluable advice with us.

We are very excited to announce our first speaker for Spring 2026: Andrea Ippolito!

Andrea Ippolito is the CEO and Founder of SimpliFed, a maternal care home platform centered on baby feeding and breastfeeding support.

Andrea served as the Director of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Innovators Network within the VA Center for Innovation. She also served as the Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the VA surrounding Electronic Health Record Modernization. Andrea was the Co-Founder of Smart Scheduling, an innovative application that improves access to care and was acquired by athenahealth in 2016, an Innovation Specialist at the Brigham Innovation Hub and Product Innovation Manager at athenahealth, and a Research Scientist at Boston Scientific. She also completed her M.S. in the Engineering Systems Division at MIT, where her research was looking at telehealth and health information exchange and she was also the Co-Director of MIT Hacking Medicine.

Andrea obtained both her BS in Biological Engineering and Master of Engineering degree in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University.

We are pleased to announce our speaker for Startup Hours this Thursday, September 18th: Tony Dang!

Tony Dang is the founder of Infisical, a YC-backed startup. Infisical is the open source security infrastructure platform that engineers use for secrets management, internal PKI, key management, and SSH workflow orchestration. Tony has raised $19M from Elad Gil, Y-Combinator, Gradient Ventures, and more.

As a Cornell alumni, he began his career as an undergraduate studying hotel administration. Along the way, he taught himself to code and graduated with a masters in computer science.
