In 2004 I began selling my alternative rock EP, "9 Years Later…" under the name THE MIDNIGHT SOCIETY. One of the songs on that CD is “Washington” which would become one of the most important songs in my personal life/career. You see, this was because I started writing "Washington" a few years before I released "9 Years Later...", when I was undergoing a very significant and honestly scary depression...But then, despite my struggles, those moments when I was making/listening to music on an organic level...were pure magic. In those moments I felt Heard, Safe, Hopeful and Powerfully FREE, Fully Free, and ALIVE. At the time, I was in college taking a digital music class and my final project required students to give a Live performance. For mine I decided to play my song "Washington". Even with only my guitar, amp, mic and a computer as my backing band I truly gave it my all. Baring *MySoul* that day... I knew I was sending out a message straight to God:
“This Is Who I Am, This Is Where I Want To Be, Hear Me Now!”

After our performances were over my professor said “You know what Disashi, you really should be making millions of dollars for this. That was really incredible!” and I could feel that he really meant his encouraging words. Yes, it's true that I already knew I needed to be doing music full-time, but it was in that EXACT moment when he spoke those words to me that I knew it was my only option, my One True Path. And I in fact would be blazing that path soon enough! You see, I deeply valued my professor's insights as he's a very creative and visionary musician himself. I also believe it shows the true power of communication and positive feedback that we have the power to share with others everyday!

This year has been a roller coaster in a lot of ways... I got to link up with family and friends who I hadn't seen in far too long. I was also fortunate to meet and connect with so many new fans and friends online and reconnect with many long time supporters too. I've honestly been overwhelmed at times, hearing the ways that my past music and projects have affected and impacted so many people in ways that I never could have imagined.

Many of you already know, from my last IG/FB story, that the end of this year was challenging in ways that I previously couldn't have foreseen, which caused me to have to rearrange a few things musically... But even so, I firmly believe, and have always believed, that life is what you make of the situations that are presented to you.

So, all of that being said, I want to thank all of you for an incredibly enlightening, loving and fulfilling year. I really appreciate connecting with like minded people, and also respectfully learning new concepts and perspectives from open-minded friends and supporters. I look forward to much more of this in 2023... And of course, I look forward to sharing NEW MUSIC with you this upcoming year.

So, here's my final family/friend/fan appreciation post of 2022... Some brand new memories and some special moments from the past... Every piece is important to make the puzzle complete!
